Preparation: Following Golden Artist Colors® panel preparation recommendations, Aspire Art Panels™ manufacturing process is continuously updated to meet the latest standards set by art conservators. Our panels are triple-gessoed and carefully sanded, providing a unique, ultra-smooth surface that's ready for painting. For the best painting experience, we recommend applying a thin layer of linseed oil for oil paints or a flow improver medium for acrylics.
Materials: Aspire Art Panels™ Gessoed Hardboard Panels are crafted from top-quality DPI high-density tempered hardboard and Golden® acrylic gesso, with FSC-certified pine wood cradles sourced from renewable forests.

So, I got mine yesterday and right away noticed the texture. (I didn't have time to paint, just opened it up to feel it.) This board has great tooth!! The museum series panel by Ampersand is way too slippery for me. Anyways, I just started painting on it and I love this little panel (I got the 6x8). I look forward to trying a larger size next time.

Love using these boards. Found good results oil painting by following their recommendation of prepping the panel with a light coating of linseed oil first. The paint really flows and pops!
